Did I say ONE puncture? Cycling through the forest south of Tokoroa, the trailer tyre punctured a couple of times more. In the end Del decided to use a new tyre rather than try to fix the puncture. That seems to have done the trick! He got safely through to Taupo without a hitch.
I drove down to Taupo for a quick visit, laden with chafing remedies and convinced him to take a rest day on Friday before he tackles the Desert Road.
For the record he's cycled around 750kms so far!
