Well, he was supposed to be in Hamilton tonight, but Del broke his own record and cycled 123 kms today and ended up in Cambridge. He lost a bit of time trying to get back onto SH1 from Drury and had to double back a couple of times but arrived in Hamilton by early afternoon and decided that he might as well try for Cambridge. It was a little further away than he had anticipated but he got there - sweaty and tired!
Meanwhile I received a lovely letter from Nelson, from the mother of an ex-pupil of Orewa North Primary School where Del and I taught in the 70's and 80's. She and her husband donated $100 to Del's Cycle Challenge in appreciation. Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Varey. Your generous support is much appreciated. Please pass on our regards to Peter.
