His precious map book, that is! It must have slipped off the top of the trailer somewhere between Kaikoura and Cheviot. Not only did it have the map of his ride but also names and addresses of places to stay at towns along the way. Yesterday Del stayed at Greta Valley, a small settlement just south of Cheviot. He immediately invested in a map and today covered 84kms bypassing Christchurch City and finishing at Templeton a few kms south of the city.
He's taken a cabin in a holiday park there. Just his luck - it seems to be situated on the main trunk line with trains rumbling past with regularity! Luckily he's out like a light once his head hits the pillow!
